Vefa – Istanbul

Today’s photo is from the Vefa – Sulaymaniye trip we made at the Middle of Istanbul Photography Workshop…

When we saw the cats playing games among the tombstones, the first thing that crossed my mind was that a black and white photograph would be more appropriate in accordance with the dramatic nature of the environment, since the light is not very good…

For this purpose, I chose the BLACK WHITE option of the DRAMATIC TONE filter in ART MODE on Olympus Cameras. Actually, in the same ART MODE, GRAINY FILM also gives a black and white effect, but I chose DRAMATIC TONE because I thought that black and white with very high contrast would not be suitable for this subject…

I used the widest aperture value due to the low light. I worked with exposure in the minus (-) direction, with the thought that darker tones would strengthen the shadows.

Camera: Olympus OMD EM1

Aperture: 2.8
