Sindelhöyük – Kayseri / 12 February 2017
During our photography trips to Kayseri, we often visit Zuhal and his family at sunrise in the Sindelhöyük Çarıklı hamlet…
We photograph the morning rush of the family, who makes a living with small cattle breeding. Meanwhile, from time to time, we also do portrait work with Zuhal and her siblings in the fold.
When taking portraits indoors, there is usually a lateral light coming from the outside on the person standing near the light source (window or door) where the light starts to decrease. The shadow and dark areas just behind allow the attention to focus on the portrait…
In such photographs, measuring the light from the person’s face and working with a minus (-) exposure intervention helps to reach the correct exposure.
Of course, since we work indoors, the light is low, which makes it somewhat imperative to use high ISO and open aperture.
Thanks to the 5-axis anti-shake feature of Olympus cameras, it is possible to take these shots without raising the ISO value too much.
