ISTANBUL

Istanbul / April 2017

From time to time, many of our photographer friends have a misconception that photography is an occupation that only travels, travels, and special times. However, photography, like many other occupations, is a field where you can get results when you get involved… Therefore, I walk around with my camera every day as much as possible. I try to photograph the events and people I encounter by carrying one of the Olympus TG-3, EM10 Mark II, EM1 or EM1 Mark II models with me.

City Through The Sea, Istanbul is a photography plateau that offers endless possibilities to photographers with both this feature and many visual notes…

The first thing that draws attention in this photograph, which brings together the sea, boat and human subjects, is of course “color”, one of the most important criteria we use when creating a composition. In general, when I aim to highlight the main subject with the color element, I prefer “yellow, orange and red”, which are rare colors in nature.

The red outfit of one of the two people chatting by the sea is very close to being the center of attention.

The height of the gaze is the first choice to separate the elements in the frame from each other… Thus, people and the ferry can stay in separate areas. The second choice is to use a limited depth of field to keep the attention of the people in the front… For this, it is enough to focus on the subject with close focus by using a tele lens and open diaphragm…

Of course, I also measure light on people so that people can look right…
