Eyup – Istanbul

Eyüp – Golden Horn view from Pierre Loti…

The shooting, which started at 10:00 in the Central Place of Istanbul Photography Workshop, which we did with Fototrek Gündüz Photography Group, continued in a very pleasant light condition. However, when we went up to Pierre Loti, the sun had turned right at noon, and the soft light that came from the horizontal angle in the morning gave way to a harder and whiter light. In this case, the photos to be taken would not give good results, as we have explained in many light lessons…

Thereupon, it was possible to balance the contrast and create a different way of expression by selecting the ART MODE / DRAMATIC (Black and White) mode on Olympus Cameras.

Choosing the aperture as 22 and using a 19mm wide-angle lens gave the chance to use the depth of field infinitely. With the -0.7 stop exposure compensation, we were able to make the shadows darker…

As a result, we had the chance to obtain a more effective photograph than it appears with an option provided by the camera in a light condition that is not very suitable for photographing…
