Amasra – Night

Amasra

On our way to Amasra for an autumn trip, we stopped to photograph the general view of Amasra from Bakacak Hill at night… As we do all night shoots, we took this shot during the period we call BLUE DARKNESS. This period, where we can still see everything but also record the color effects of artificial light sources, is the most suitable period for night shots.

Again, as in all night shots, I shot using 8 diaphragms. I also recorded different exposure values by making a general light measurement with the shutter speed control and BRACKETING / GROUPING / SCANNING in + and – directions. This photo is taken with an exposure of -1.0.

For my JPEG files, I also took different shots in DAYLIGHT / TUNGSTEN and FLUORESCENT White Balance. This photo is shot using FLUORESCENT White Balance.

Since the point we are in is quite far from the general image, I took the shot by turning on the Digital Tele Converter. Thus, with my 150 mm lens, I was able to shoot 300 mm with 2x optical multiplier and 600 mm with 2x Digital Tele.

I took the shot using a tripod because the exposure time was long. I prefer the Manfrotto BeFreeOne model as a tripod.

Again, due to the long exposure, I activated the NOISE REDUCTION / GRAIN REDUCTION feature on the camera. Thus, I have also prevented NOISE – REDUCTION due to exposure…
